After taking a weekend to recover from our long journey home in coach class, we resumed normal activities. On October 30th, that was spending the day at the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show. The big attraction this year was the flight of the F-22, Raptor. The F-22 is a "fifth-generation super-maneuverable fighter aircraft that uses stealth technology." The plane was designed to replace the F-15. And, if you're anything like me, you probably have no idea what either of those two sentences REALLY mean!! But, Joe knows all about aircraft, including military aircraft and he was thrilled at the idea of seeing it in the air. As an added bonus, Joe scored complimentary tickets to the AA/Eagle tent at the air show. We really had no idea what this meant, but it was totally cool!!! The tent was right next to the runway where all the aircraft were performing and we had the best view of the show without being overwhelmed by all the people. And, to top it off, we got free lunch!
The only negative of the day was that my camera battery died. I continued to take several pictures with my cell phone camera, but when I used the zoom feature, the pictures turned out incredibly grainy. The good news was, I got the F-22 Raptor, but the bad news is, I took some awesome pictures of the Blue Angels that didn't turn out too well. Here are a few highlights of the day:
