The first thing worth noting was that Joe and I took delivery of our new living room tables. As you might know, we have been slowly (one might even say - very slowly), but surely, re-doing our house and trying to live like grown-ups. So, now we have 3 new tables in our living room and the only things left to complete this room would be an updated TV and a new screen for the fireplace. Oh, but those things ARE getting ahead of myself. Here's our new tables!!!:
Even bigger - literally and figuratively - on August 16th, Joe bought a new car. We have taken turns buying new cars since we've been married and it was Joe's turn. So after much research and much shopping, he decided on a 2012 Ford Escape. I think he would have liked an opportunity to take a more serious look at a Honda CRV, but because of the earthquake/tsunami of March 11th, the inventory is practically nil. So, set on buying in August, he went with the Escape and I think he's pretty happy with his choice. Here's Capers:
Buying a new car also meant cleaning out the garage. We ended up selling 3 pieces of workout equipment on Craig's List in order to make room for both Daisy and Capers in the garage. It was nice to get rid of that stuff. It was just taking up space anyway!!! And, it was relatively easy. I was hesitant to do the Craig's List thing, but it all worked out pretty well!
Buying a new car also means that Daisy is now the old car. That is taking a little adjustment for me, but given that she has many door dings and Capers has none, I do understand!!
The very next day, on August 17th, I became a great aunt. My niece, Jessica, gave birth to a baby boy, Jason. We went to visit the next weekend, but haven't had a chance to see him since. Fortunately, since the advent of social networking, I'm able to keep up with Jason's progress on Facebook. Here's a few pictures:

We rounded out August by spending a weekend apart. I went to Canton with my friend, Crafty Michele, for my 2nd annual scrapbook weekend at the Windsock Inn. I wasn't quite as productive as I was in Year 1, but I still managed to get some things accomplished, not to mention that I enjoyed some serious girls time!!
Joe spent his weekend in Illinois with his family, which turned out to be a huge blessing. But, more on that later...
