On October 12th, we got a real treat! DDY came to Texas!!! Ever since the beginning of August playing with DDY we were told that he would not ever play in Texas. As hard as the Zadra's tried, they never found out why he wouldn't play Texas, but we just always expected that if we were going to see them, we would have to go to them. Not so after all. They not only played Texas, but they played at the Meyerson with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra - a show I had really, really wanted to see! So, it was really a double treat - the orchestra show in Texas!!! The only catch was that Joe and I were getting ready to leave on another trip and we weren't 100% sure we would be able to make it. Obviously, in the end, we did. August got us comp tickets and we sat with Sheli right down front. It was really great. Great seats, great show, great friends. We did pass on the after-party since we were catching a 6:00AM flight the next morning, but it was all worth it!!!
With that, I guess you know my next post will be our next vacation. As a hint, I'll tell you that it's a place that neither of us had been before, to a part of the world we had never been before. And, Joe never told his mom where we were going. In fact, to this day, I'm not sure she knows.

Adventures in Babysitting...
On September 15th, Joe and I babysat the twins - Grayson and Bryson. We really do enjoy babysitting the boys. They are always usually good for us and are fun to spend time with. They have only cried when Amy & Whitney left one time and typically warm right up to us. Typically, we babysit in the evening, so we have a couple of hours with them and then it's time for bed. But, this time we babysat while Amy & Whit went to the A & M football game at SMU, which was in the afternoon. Joe had decided he wanted to go to Illinois to visit his mom for her birthday, but since the boys are bigger now I told him - no problem!!! I assured him that it was fine to leave whenever he needed to in order to catch his flight and I would be fine for an hour or two by myself with the boys. Not. Fine. Not fine at all. We had played with the boys and taken them for a walk. As the day was starting to wind down, I thought they would be getting tired. Not so much. We started out by having a snack of Cheerios, but Grayson decided it would be more fun to dump them on the floor instead of eating them. When I refused to refill his cup, he completely melted down and Amy chose that moment to call and check in. I was a little mortified that she could hear him screaming his head off, but I just laughed it off so as not to alarm her. During his tantrum, he stepped on one of his dropped Cheerios and he did not like that at all. So, I picked him up and washed his foot off in the kitchen sink. Well. He thought that was really fun, so he wanted me to do it again. And again. And again. And again. And, of course, Bryson saw how much fun the foot washing was so he wanted to do it, too. Again. And again. And again. I was getting downright exhausted!!! During the washing they were climbing on their toys and that is a no, no. So, I tried to distract them with something else. Then they got up on the furniture and were standing up. Also a no, no. The more I told them no and got them down, the more they laughed and thought that was great fun. Love those boys to death, but that was the longest hour of my life. Hahahahaha!!!! Great story, but never again. I'm clearly meant to babysit one on one. I have no idea how parents with multiples do it.
